Ushr [font, alqalamreg, (عشر)

It is a tax which is levied on the products of the agricultural lands. The rate of Ushr is 10% for irrigated lands and 5% for the lands which survive on rainfall. Taxes on such items are asked to be paid in kind, not in cash. The Ushr revenues are usually spent on those accounts on which the Zakat is spent.
