Tehweel-e-Qibla (تحویلِ قبلہ)

Event of Tehweel-e-Qibla or Change of Qiblah took place at the 16th or 17th month after Prophet Muhammad’s migration form Makkah to Madinah. Qiblah which refers to the direction that the Muslims face while offering their prayer was the Holy Ka'bah at the initial stage of Islam. Prophet Muhammad used to face this direction when offering prayer, however before the migration to Madinah, the direction was changed towards Bait Al-Muqaddas (Jerusalem) and then after 16 or 17 months, back towards Ka'bah again.
