Tayammum (تیمم)

Published on: 07-Feb-2025

Tayammum is a dry form of wudu/ablution which is typically performed in absence of water or due to some disease which doesn’t allow a person to pour water on body. It plays the role of wudu (and Ghusl as well in specific conditions) for all sort of prayers and is compulsory to perform for Salat in the absence of water. To perform this, a person uses sand or dust for cleanliness and wipe his/her face and hands from the sandy hands. It becomes invalid with the similar things which invalidates the wudu/ghusl but an additional thing to invalidate it, is the availability of water or removing of the disease which stops a person to use water.
