Nafl [font, alqalamreg, (نفل)

It literally means something extra or additional. In Islamic law, it implies to a voluntary prayer which is performed apart from the Fardh or Wajib prayer, with the intention to earn extra reward from Almighty Allah. Such acts are performed by the believers to attract divine blessings or to attain proximity of Almighty Allah.
