Mursal Hadith (حدیث مرسل)

A hadith in which a narrator does not quote the complete chain of narration. While narrating this hadith, the narrator skips one or more of the narrators mentioned in the chain and quotes Prophet Muhammad directly. It is of three types:

1. Mursal of a Companion of the Holy Prophet.
2. Mursal of Taab'i or Tab'e Taab'i.
3. Mursal of the People who came after Taab'i or Tab'e Taab'i.
