Munafiq (منافق) / Hypocrite

Munafiq is derived from the Arabic word 'Nifaq' which refers to hypocrisy. Thus, munafiq (pl. munafiqeen) is a hypocrite who claims to be a Muslim, but in reality he/she is not. From his/her actions, he/she proves that he/she is a non-believer. A munafiq or hypocrite, according to Islam, will reside in the lowest level of hell. The Emaan of a munafiq is rejected by Allah unless he/she accepts Islam wholeheartedly and sincerely repents for his/her prior deeds.
