Mawlid (مولد, Birthplace)

The word Mawlid means a birthplace of someone. In Seerat, this term is specifically used for the sanctified and historical location where the Holy Prophet 9 was born. It is located in one of the historical and ancient streets of She’b Bani Hashim, i.e., Souq Al-Layl in the east of the Masjid Al-Haram. Currently, Makkah library is found at this place. It was the house of the Holy Prophet's 9 father, Abdullah ibn Abdul Muttalib 8 in She’b Bani Hashim, where the Hashim clan reserved the eastern side of the Masjid Al-Haram as a place of their residence.
