Masjid (مسجد)

Published on: 07-Feb-2025

Masjid is called ‘Mosque’ in English which refers to a particular and specific place of Ibadat, the self-prostration. The mosque is built to pray there in congregation five times a day. Apart from the congregational prayer, the Muslims also go there to pray individually. It is also visited to recite the book of Allah Almighty, to remember the Creator, and hear His commandments on how one should lead his/her life. It also serves as a community center for the Muslims where they share happiness in good times, e.g. marriage, other social activities and support each other in times of sadness, e.g. at times of Funeral Prayer etc. It also serves as an educational center where religious knowledge is imparted to Muslim brothers and sisters especially in Friday’s sermons.
