Jizya (جزیہ)

It is a kind of yearly tax which is enforced on those non-Muslims who live in Muslim territory and are protected by the Muslim Government. These non-Muslims are called Dhimmi (ذمی) and their protection and security are on the shoulders of Muslim government. Rate of this tax are not specified, they vary from time to time and situation to situation as per the decision and understanding of the Muslim Ruler.
