Published on: 04-Feb-2025

This word is derived from ‘Abd (عبد) which means a servant or a bondman. So, ‘Ibadat means to serve Allah Almighty to show the level of submission to our Lord Who has given us this life and everything related to it through prayer and actions. A person who does ‘Ibadat means ‘do prayer’ is called ‘Abid (عابد), feminine ’Abidah (عابدۃ).
