Hilf Al-Fudhul or ‘the Pact of Al-Fudhul’ was a famous coalition of the prominent leaders of Makkah, formed in 590 C.E. after the Battles of Al-Fijar, against prevailing injustice and violence among them. This pact was reputed as one of the most fair and honourable pacts ever reached among the Arabs. That pact was named the pact of Al-Fudhul due to the names of the main participants who had consisted the word ‘Fadhl’ in their names like Al-Fadhl ibn Fadhalah, Al-Fadhl ibn Wada’h, Fudhail ibn Al-Harith etc.
