Eid

Arabic for “festivity.” There are two Eids: Eid al-Fitr, a Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, and Eid al-Adha, the day of sacrificing animals in the name of Allah to remember and honor the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and his son, Ismail (Ishmael) .
