‘Aam Al-Huzun (عام الحزن)

‘Aam Al-Huzun is translated as ‘The Year of Grief’ or ‘The Year of Sorrow’. This term is used for the year 619 A.D. and the 3rd year before Hijra. This year is regarded as ‘Aam Al-Huzun because the Holy Prophet’s wife Khadija and his Uncle Abu Talib were passed away in this year. Furthermore, with the demise of his uncle Abu Talib, the protection which he had given to the Holy Prophet was also withdrawn.
