Haraam (حرام)

It is an Arabic term meaning "forbidden" or "prohibited". Terminologically it refers to the things declared forbidden in Islamic law by Allah Almighty and Prophet Muhammad . It denotes actions, behaviors, or items explicitly prohibited by Islamic principles. Examples include certain types of meat (like pork), intoxicants, engaging in usury (interest), theft, adultery, and dishonesty. The concept extends to anything considered morally or ethically unacceptable in accordance with Islamic teachings, and Muslims are expected to avoid haram practices and adhere to halal alternatives.
