Islam (اسلام)

The word Islam refers to ‘submission’ and as a religious term, means ‘submission to the Will and Commands of Allah Almighty. The word Islam also refers to ‘peace’ and more specifically: ‘a way to achieve and establish peace’. So, one of the cardinal goals of Islam is to Establish peace and Goodwill. Furthermore, according to Islam, God is Al-Salaam i.e. the Author of peace, the resting place of the righteous is Darus Salam i.e. the Abode of peace and the salutation of a Muslim is Assalamualaikum i.e. Peace be upon you.
