Adam, the father of mankind, discussed the arrival of Muhammad
in his teachings which are found in different Holy Scriptures of divine religions. His words which are not found in the written form directly, as no press or paper was available at that time, were preserved by God and discussed in divine books. Some of those glad tidings which are found about Muhammad’s
arrival are going to discuss in upcoming lines to show what Abu Adam said about his greatest progeny.
There is a chapter about Adam
in the Bible of Barnabas 1 that presents a discussion of Jesus
with one of his disciples. Jesus
said:
'Adam, having sprung up upon his feet, saw in the air a writing that shone like the sun, which said: "There is only one God, and Mohammed is the messenger of God." After that Adam opened his mouth and said: "I thank thee, O Lord my God, that thou hast deigned to create me; but tell me. I pray thee, what meaneth the message of these words: "Mohammed is the messenger of God. Have there been other men before me?" 'Then said God: "Be thou welcome, O my servant Adam. I tell thee that thou art the first man whom I have created. He whom thou hast seenundefined is thy son, who shall come into the world many years hence. He shall be My messenger, for whom I had created all things; who shall give light to the world when he shall come; whose soul was set in a celestial splendour sixty thousand years before I made anything." 'Adam besought God, saying: "Lord, grant me this writing upon the nails of the fingers of my hands." Then God gave to the first man upon his thumbs that writing; upon the thumb-nail of the right hand it said: "There is only one God," and upon the thumb-nail of the left it said: "Mohammed is the Messenger of God." Then with fatherly affection, the first man kissed those words, and rubbed his eyes, and said: "Blessed be that day when thou shalt come to the world."
These verses of the Gospel support the Muslims’ belief (developed in the light of Ahadith) that the first creation of Allah was the soul of Prophet Muhammad
. All other things were created after it. The following hadith further supports this claim. The Holy Prophet
said:
Jabir bin Abdullah Ansari said: I said, O Messenger of Allah, my father and mother are foregone on you, tell me about the first thing created by God Almighty before all the things. He said: O Jabir, God Almighty has created Light (Noor) of your Prophet before the Light (Noor)of the things from His own Light (Noor), Making this light spins everywhere where God Almighty wished, and there were not at the time, board and pen, nor the heaven nor the fire, nor the angel nor the sky, nor land nor sun nor the moon, nor the jinn nor the human being.
The statement “God Almighty has created Light (Noor) of your prophet before the Noor of the things” clearly shows that Prophet Muhammad
was the first creation, and Adam
was created after him. So Adam
, even though he was the first human to be created, was sent to this earth as a messenger, and a witness to the prophet hood of Muhammad
. In this regard, another verse in the Gospel of Barnabas in which Adam
states:
'God hid himself, and the angel Michael drove them forth from paradise. Whereupon Adam, turning him round, saw written above the gate, "There is only one God, and Mohammed is messenger of God." Whereupon, weeping, he said: "May it be pleasing to God, O my son, that thou come quickly and draw us out of misery."
It is a known fact that all the Gospels and the Bible have been continuously tampered by the Christians and the Jews. This tampering has been done over the course of centuries to ensure that the edited verses support their claims and beliefs. Hence the Christians have always tried to accommodate the verses (which were revealed for Muhammad
) upon Jesus
. This act is baffling since the sanctity of Jesus
is certain and established. There are many verses in the Holy Quran and the Ahadith (to be discussed in the subsequent chapter) which elucidate and support the actual status of Jesus
.
Hence, tampering with the verses of the present Bible, which still indicates the true prophecy about Muhammad
(even though it has been altered many times in the past) is unethical, dishonest, deceitful and a grave sin. Another manipulated verse given in the Bible, which the Christians try to fit on Jesus
(and fail dismally) is follows:
Then the Lord God said to the snake, “You will be punished for this; you alone of all the animals must bear this curse: From now on you will crawl on your belly, and you will have to eat dust as long as you live. I will make you and the woman hate each other; her offspring and yours will always be enemies. Her offspring will crush your head, and you will bite her offspring's heel.”
If we consider the Christian’s interpretation that these verses of the Bible are for Jesus
and he was the one who smashed the head of the Devil by sacrificing his life through crucifixion, so this is the spot to be scrutinised in the logical directive under the light of history. Throughout the life of Jesus
, very few of the people, including 12 disciples accepted his faith out of which Peter hurt Jesus
and was called Satan at one spot as it is remarked in the given verse that:
Jesus turned around and said to Peter, “Get away from me Satan! You are an obstacle in my way, because these thoughts of yours do not come from God, but from human nature.”
In reality, Jesus
had already told Peter that he would refuse him. Peter had indignantly refuted the idea and declared that, even if all the other disciples deserted Jesus
, he would suffer death rather than disown his lord. However, when the moment came, Peter had to withdraw from his claim, and pronouncement as Jesus
predicted: when confronted in the courtyard of the high priest, he denied ever knowing Jesus
. When he realised what he had done, and that Jesus
had been right all along, Peter was deeply ashamed, and wept bitterly as Matthew mentions it:
Peter remembered what Jesus had told him: “Before the rooster crows, you will say three times that you do not know me.” He went out and wept bitterly.
Another disciple Judas Iscariot, the traitor, was the son of Simon who lived in Kerioth of Judah. He betrayed Jesus
for thirty pieces of silver and later hanged himself. The Bible of Matthew states:
Then one of the twelve disciples—the one named Judas Iscariot—went to the chief priests and asked, “What will you give me if I betray Jesus to you?” They counted out thirty silver coins and gave them to him. From then on Judas was looking for a good chance to hand Jesus over to them.
It is said that Judas was a violent Jewish Nationalist who had followed Jesus
in the hope that through him his nationalistic flame and dreams might be realised. Nevertheless, he was one of the recognised disciples of Jesus
who is referred in the Bible as:
Jesus replied, “I chose the twelve of you, didn't I? Yet one of you is a devil!”?
Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve disciples, went off to the chief priests in order to betray Jesus to them. They were pleased to hear what he had to say, and promised to give him money. So Judas started looking for a good chance to hand Jesus over to them.
These are the proofs that the quoted verses of the Bible, Genesis 3: 14-15 are not for Jesus
but the precise application of them are possible for the Holy Prophet
. Some of the Christian Scholars state that the triumph of the demon was only in appearance. Spiritually, Jesus
won, but if we scrutinise the historically available facts, it becomes clear that Jesus
could not overcome the devil spiritually too. As the 2 out of the 12 disciples were called Satan by him and the mission of the Satan is to detract the creature of Allah for sending them to Hell; he succeeded in his mission against Jesus
at least in the case of Judas Iscariot, the traitor. 11
Contrary to Jesus
, Prophet Muhammad
was the man in the history of the world who crashed the complete system of Satan and overwhelmed it. He changed the existing world by his endeavours and finally applies the teachings of Allah on the earth. On the other hand, he worked on the inner side of the human beings and turned his thousands of disciples in the pious people and saint of Allah. As the Holy Quran states:
Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) is the Noble Messenger of Allah; and his companions are stern with the disbelievers and merciful among themselves – you will see them bowing and falling in prostration, seeking Allah’s munificence and His pleasure; their signs are on their faces, from the effects of their prostration; this trait of theirs is mentioned in the Taurat; and their trait is mentioned in the Injeel; like a cultivation that sprouted its shoot, then strengthened it, then thickened and then stood firm upon its stem, pleasing the farmer – in order to enrage the disbelievers with them; Allah has promised forgiveness and a great reward to those among them who have faith and do good deeds.
Moreover, the Holy Prophet
himself said:
Ibn-e-Abbasreported that Allah’s Prophet
spoke to the people at Hijjat-ul-Wida and said: O people! This day Satan has lost all hope of re-establishing his worship in this land of yours. But should you obey him even in what may seem to you trilling, it will be a matter of pleasure for him. O people I have left in between you (two things) if you hold them you will never detract, Book of Allah and Sunnah of His Prophet
.
This claim of Holy Prophet
, the Honest and the Trustworthy, that the devil got disappointed completely from the continent of Arab is the proof that his head was crushed completely according to the verse of Bible, Genesis: 3: 14-15. The Holy Prophet
said about Umar
:
"O Ibne Al-Khattab! By Him in Whose Hands, my life is! Never does Satan see you going in a way, but he takes another way other than yours."
It shows that a few companions of Prophet Muhammad
were themselves, the head crushers of devil, and Satan used to run away from them. At another place Allah says:
Said Allah, “This path leads straight towards Me. Indeed you do not have any power over My bondmen, except those wanderers who follow you.”(The devil is unsuccessful in tempting Allah’s chosen bondmen to commit sin.)
By all the details which are presented in this discussion, it proofs that the forecast which was given in the Gospel of Barnabas Ch. 39 and Genesis, 3: 14-15 are for Prophet Muhammad
and he is the true personality for which they were revealed on Adam
.
